Screenshot Upload Rules
Readers can add their own in-game screenshots to mount, minion and gear pages. Every upload is reviewed by a person before it appears anywhere. These are the rules that review applies, and what you agree to when you send a picture in.
1. What you confirm and allow
- You captured the screenshot yourself in FINAL FANTASY XIV.
- You grant XIV·Codex a non-exclusive, revocable right to store, convert, scale and publicly display it. You can delete any of your uploads at any time from your settings; deletion removes them from every page.
- Uploads appear only after review. XIV·Codex may decline or remove an upload at any time without notice.
- If you chose to be credited, your display name is shown beside the picture; otherwise it is shown without a name. Your account is recorded either way.
2. What uploads must be
- A real, unedited screenshot from FINAL FANTASY XIV - no other games, no external photos, no generated or heavily composited images, no watermarks or overlays.
- A picture of the subject of the page it is uploaded to.
- Reasonably sharp, lit well enough to see, with the subject recognizable.
- Free of HUD, chat and interface clutter.
- No sexual or graphically violent content, and nothing racist, sexist, homophobic or otherwise offensive (also a condition of Square Enix's license, below).
- No identifiable names of other players without their consent.
- Not a picture the page already has.
3. Square Enix material
- Screenshots show material © SQUARE ENIX. FINAL FANTASY is a registered trademark of Square Enix Holdings Co., Ltd.
- Uploads are hosted under the FINAL FANTASY XIV Materials Usage License. XIV·Codex removes any material at Square Enix's request.
